Record breaking! The Chinese team discovered the element superconductor with the highest superconducting transition temperature
▲Evolution phase diagram of superconducting transition temperature of element scandium with pressure
The research team led by Professor Chen Xianhui from the School of Physics at the University of Science and Technology of China and the Key Laboratory of Strong Coupling Quantum Materials Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Professor Sun Jian from Nanjing University, has made significant progress in the field of high-voltage element superconductivity. Through ultra-high pressure technology, the research team found that the element scandium has a superconducting transition temperature of up to 36K under high pressure, breaking the record for the highest superconducting transition temperature of the element.
